An acrylic bending machine heats a narrow line in a thermoplastic sheet until it becomes flexible, then the sheet is formed to the required angle or curve. Controlled, even heat helps produce cleaner bends with less whitening, bubbling and rework.

The sheet is not melted completely. Only the bending zone is softened, so the surrounding area keeps its shape. Heating-wire systems can provide a focused heating line and repeatable temperature control for boxes, display racks, signs and industrial parts.
