How to Bend Thin and Thick Acrylic Sheets More Consistently

Thin and thick sheets need different heating time, support and bend speed. Thin acrylic responds quickly and can overheat; thick acrylic needs enough time for heat to reach the center.
1.Why it matters
A surface that feels soft may still be rigid inside. Bending too early creates spring-back or whitening, while excessive heat can cause bubbles and edge deformation. Consistency comes from a repeatable test record, not guesswork.
2.Practical checklist
· Start conservatively and use a clean offcut from the same sheet.
· Support the full length so the hot sheet does not sag.
· For thick material, allow deeper heating before applying steady pressure.
3.Which machine fits?
The Advertising Bender is specified for 0.5-10 mm sheets. For regular work above 10 mm, the Factory Bender has a listed 1-12 mm range.

Should the protective film stay on during heating?
Follow the sheet supplier's guidance. Remove film from the heating zone if it can shrink, mark or release fumes.
